Possession of a Weapon

On March 15, 2022 shortly before 7:00 pm, police observed a male waving a large hunting knife in the area of 8th street and Victoria Ave.  Police learned the 30-year-old male was to abide by conditions not to possess any weapons.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service.  He will appear in court today on charges of Possession of a Weapon and Fail to comply with Release Order X2.  The male was alone when police observed him waving around the weapon.

 

Theft of Vehicle – Recovered

On March 16, 2022, police responded to a report of a vehicle, which had been stolen, from the 1000 block of Lorne Ave.  The owner had left the vehicle running and unattended at approximately 2:20 am.  The 2005 red Ford Freestyle was located at 3:10 am, stuck in a snowbank in the 800 block of 25th street.  The vehicle was towed for further examination.

Assault

On March 12, 2022, police responded to a report of an assault, which occurred in the area of the 800 block of Pacific Ave shortly before 8:00 am.  Investigation revealed that a 48-year-old male assaulted another individual during a disturbance.  The male suspect could not immediately be located as he left the area.  The victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

On March 15, 2022, police located and arrested the 48-year-old male suspect.  He was later released and will appear in court on May 12, 2022.

Yesterday we released that a female suspect had also been arrested for assaulting this same victim with a conducted energy weapon.  This 48-year-old male suspect assaulted the victim in the same incident.

 

Possession of Meth

On March 15, 2022, shortly before 9:00 pm police conducted a traffic stop in the 1800 block of 1st street N.  Investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of a small quantity of Meth.  The 53-year-old male was arrested and later released to appear in court on April 14, 2022 on a charge of Possession of Meth.

 

Breach of the Peace

On March 16, 2022, after 2:00 am, police received several reports of a male who seemed to be checking vehicle doors and business doors near the 400 block of 8th street.  Police located a 35-year-old male suspect in the area.  The suspect was under the influence of illicit drugs at the time. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober to prevent his actions from continuing.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On March 15, 2022, police conducted a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Brandon Ave at approximately 9:00 pm.  A 29-year-old male passenger was to abide by a condition not to communicate with the driver.  He was arrested and later released to appear in court on May 9, 2022 on charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order.

 

Arrest Warrants

On March 15, 2022, police located and arrested a 40-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon. She was later released to appear in court on May 3, 2022.

On March 15, 2022, police located and arrested a 43-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Operate a Conveyance While Prohibited and Fail to Attend Court. He was later released and will appear in court on May 9, 2022.

On March 15, 2022, police located and arrested a 44-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Fail to Attend Court.  He was later released and will appear in court on May 9, 2022.
