Possession For the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine

On February 15, 2022, shortly before 4:00 pm, members of the Crime Suppression Section conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 1, several Km east of Brandon.  Investigation revealed the 27-year-old male driver from Alberta was in possession of 2.5 kg of cocaine.  The suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service following his arrest and will appear in court today on charges of Possession For the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine.

 

Fraud Use of Credit Card

On January 23, 2022, police responded to a report of the theft of a purse while the victim was in a business.  The suspect went on to use credit cards within the purse to make purchases in several Brandon businesses.  The suspect’s image was captured on several of the businesses security footage, which led police to learn their identity. 

On February 15, 2022, police located and arrested the 28-year-old male suspect.  He was later released and will appear in court on May 9, 2022 on a charge of Fraud use Credit Card X3, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

 

Assault

On February 15, 2022, police responded to a report of an assault outside a residence shortly before 9:00 pm.  Investigation revealed that a 27-year-old female and a 25-year-old male, assaulted a 23-year-old male following an argument.  The victim did not require medical attention.  Both the female and male suspect were arrested and later released to appear in court in April on charges of Assault.

 

Breach of Peace

On February 16, 2022, shortly before 2:00 am, police attended to an apartment building on a separate matter when they came across a disturbance in the common area.  The 19-year-old female who was causing the issues was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent her actions from escalating.
