Impaired Driver

On December 13, 2021 at approximately 4:40 pm, police responded to report of an impaired driver in the 1000 block of 1st Street North.  Witnesses reported the suspect driver had struck another vehicle forcing it into the ditch.  Police located the suspect vehicle and arrested the 43-year-old female operator.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober to appear in court on charges of Driving While Ability Impaired, and Driving with More Than 80 mgs of Alcohol in the Blood.

 

Robbery

On December 13, 2021, at approximately 1:20 pm, police responded to a business in the 700 block of 10th Street for report of a robbery.  Employees reported the suspect male had attempted to leave the store with unpurchased items.  Upon being confronted, he drew attention to a hatchet he was carrying inside his jacket.  The 34-year-old was located in the area and the hatchet was found to be in his possession.  He was arrested at which time he provided a false name. 

This male was also identified as the suspect in an incident that took place earlier on the same date.  During this incident, at a residence in the 2200 block of Rosser, he became involved in a dispute with two residents while armed with a sword.  The same male was also found to be wanted on outstanding charges of Assault Cause Bodily Harm.  As a result of both incidents, he was charged with Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, and Public Mischief. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today.

 

Breach of Peace

On December 13, 2021, at approximately 5:54 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance in the 300 block of Frederick Street.  The 26-year-old was found to be in no condition to care for himself.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to be released when sober.

On December 13, 2021, at approximately 7:40 pm, police responded to a report of a female resident causing a disturbance on Crocus Crescent.  The 21-year-old continued to escalate after police arrival.  She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent further issues.

On December 13, 2021, at approximately 11:15 pm, police responded to report of a male patron causing a disturbance in the 2100 block of Currie Boulevard.  He had damaged property and continued to escalate.  The 26-year-old was located and found to be intoxicated.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent further issues.  He will be released once sober.

 

Mischief to Property

On December 14, 2021 at approximately 3:40 am, police responded to a report of a disturbance in the 1800 block of Middleton Avenue.  A male patron had entered a business without a mask as per COVID-19 restrictions.  An employee asked him to put on a mask at which time he became escalated and damaged business property.    Police attended and located the suspect in the area.  The 59-year-old was arrested for Mischief to Property.  Due to being intoxicated, he was lodged at Brandon Police Service to be released for court on February 10, 2022.

 

Arrest Warrant

On December 13, 2021, Manitoba First Nation Police located and arrested an 18-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding Brandon Police Service charges of Fail to Comply with an Undertaking.  He was lodged to appear in court today.

On December 13, 2021, at approximately 9:20 pm, police located and arrested a 43-year-old male on an outstanding charge of Fail to Comply with Probation.  He was released to appear in court on January 17, 2022.

On December 13, 2021, at approximately 10:30 pm, police located and arrested a 25-year-old female on an outstanding charge of Fail to Comply with Probation.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court this morning.

On December 13, 2021, at approximately 11:10 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female in the 300 block of 4th Street.  The 19-year-old was located in the area.  She was found to be wanted on outstanding charges of Theft Under $5000 and Break and Enter.  She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court this morning.
