Attempt Escape Lawful Custody

On June 5, 2022, at approximately 11:30 pm, police responded to a report of an inmate at BCC who attempted to escape custody while being treated at hospital.  Officers and hospital employees quickly located the 34-year-old male hiding behind equipment nearby where he was being treated.  Once located, he remained in in the custody of the Correctional Officers to continue to receive medical treatment.

On June 12, 2022, police arrested the male, who will appear in court today on a charge of Attempt Escape Lawful Custody.  He remains in custody at BCC.

 

 Theft Under $5000

On June 12, 2022 shortly after 8:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female causing a disturbance in a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave.  Police discovered that the 27-year-old female responsible for the issues at the business was to abide by Probation conditions not to attend there.

Once she was arrested, police discovered she was in possession of unpaid merchandise from the business.

The female was lodged at Brandon Police Service due to her intoxication level, and will be released once sober to appear in court on August 15, 2022, on charges of Theft Under $5000 and Fail to Comply with Probation.

 

Possession of a Weapon

On June 13, 2022 shortly before 3:00 am, while dealing with another matter in the 800 block of Pacific Ave, police observed a male crawl under a vehicle.  When police approached the male, he produced a can of bear mace.

22-year-old male was arrested without incident.  Following his arrest, police learned he was to abide by a daily curfew and he was not to possess any weapons.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Possession of a Weapon, Fail to Comply with Undertaking X2.

 

Theft Under $5000

On June 11, 2022, police responded to a report of theft of merchandise from a business in the 1000 block of Richmond Ave.  The female suspect concealed the merchandise before leaving the business and placing he products into a vehicle.  Security footage from the business assisted police in identifying the 55-year-old female.

On June 12, 2022, police arrested the female.  She was later released and will appear in court on August 15, 2022 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On June 12, 2022, shortly before 10:00 pm, police observed a female pedestrian in the 700 block of Victoria Ave, who was to abide by a curfew.  The 20-year-old female was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Fail to Comply with Release Order.

 

IPDA

On June 12, 2022, shortly after 3:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male who had fallen in the street in the 000 block of 9th street.  The 65-year-old male was checked out medically as a precaution.  Once it was determined he was without any significant injuries, he still was in no condition to care for himself.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Consume Under – LGCA

On June 13, 2022, police came across a 17-year-old intoxicated female in the 500 block of Louise Ave shortly after 2:00 am.  The female was carrying eggs, with her.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service due to her intoxication and will be released to an adult once sober.
