Break and Enter Arrest

At 3:35 p.m. Friday, police attended to a report of a break and enter in progress at a business in the 1000 block of 18th Street. A 29 year old male of no fixed address was arrested on scene, after he broke a window and then entered into the exterior of the building. He was released from custody on an Undertaking, and will appear in Brandon Provincial Court in April to answer to a single charge of break and enter.

Garage Break and Enter

At 3:50 p.m. Friday, an unknown male entered a garage in the 300 block of 16th Street. A bicycle and other items were taken.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered

At 4:35 a.m. today, a resident in the downtown area started their vehicle to warm it up and discovered a few minutes later that the vehicle had been stolen. The vehicle was located a few minutes later abandoned and still running in the 100 block of Lorne Avenue.

Other Arrests

  • At 12:40 p.m. Friday, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of 23rd Street. The driver, a 36 year old male from Brandon, was in the company of a female he is prohibited by court order from having any contact or communication with. Police arrested the male and after appearing before a Justice he was remanded to the custody of Provincial Corrections. He will appear in court on Monday, and faces a single charge of failure to comply with an undertaking.
  • At 7:20 p.m. Friday, staff from a business in the 3200 block of Victoria Avenue reported that a male was continuously reentering the business and causing a disturbance. The 27 year old male from Brandon was lodged in cells at BPS in order to prevent a continuation of the ongoing problems, and will be released this morning without charge.
