Home Invasion

On April 12, 2022, shortly after 11:00 am, police received a report of a home invasion, which occurred at a residence in the 000 block of Willowdale Cres at approximately 5:00 am that morning.

Investigation revealed that a female and two males forced their way into the home and demanded drugs and money from the two occupants.  The occupants were threatened with a knife and struck several times with a shovel, before the suspects stole a watch, cell phones, a smart TV and a Bluetooth speaker.  The suspects then fled the residence.

Shortly before 5:00 pm, police stopped a vehicle at 5th street and Princess Ave.  The 19-year-old female occupant was as identified as a suspect from the home invasion and she was arrested.  In her possession was the stolen TV and the Bluetooth Speaker.  The female suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Break, Enter and Commit Robbery, Assault X2 and Utter Threats.

The driver of the vehicle stop initially provided police with a false name.  Investigation revealed his identity, and the fact that he was wanted on outstanding charges.  The 30-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service.  He will appear in court today on a new charge of Public Mischief, and warrant charges of Reckless Discharge Firearm, Unauthorized Possession Firearm.

Police continue to investigate the home invasion.  The victims did not require medical attention following the assaults.

 

Possess for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine

In April 13, 2022, police came across several individuals who appeared to be throwing rocks while shouting in the 1100 block of Rosser Ave shortly before 1:00 am.  Investigation revealed that a 35-year-old female at the scene was to abide by a curfew. 

Upon the female’s arrest, police discovered that she was in possession of a number of dime baggies, believed to contain cocaine.  She was also in possession of a small pry bar, a glass cutting tool and stolen cheques. 

The female was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear today in court on charges of Fail to Comply with Undertaking X2, Possess Break-in Instruments, Possess Property Obtained by Crime and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine. 

 

Possess Weapon

On April 13, 2022, police came across three males walking in the middle of the road in the 200 block of 7th street shortly after 3:00 am.  Investigation revealed that two of the males were to abide by conditions of release orders, but they were in breach.  Following their arrests, one of the males was also found to be in possession of a hunting knife, a hatchet and a kitchen knife. 

Two of the males were lodged at Brandon Police Service.  The 21-year-old male will appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order X2.  A 38-year-old male will appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order X4 and Possess Weapon. 

The third individual, a 40-year-old male, was found to be in possession of break-in tools; He was arrested and released to appear in court on June 9, 2022 on a charge of Possess Break-In Instruments.

 

Assault

On April 12, 2022, police responded to a report of an assault at a residence shortly before 5:00 pm.  The victim received minor injuries that required medical treatment.  The 43-year-old male suspect left the residence prior to police arrival, but turned himself in a short time later.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service following his arrest and will be released to appear in court at a later date.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On April 12, 2022, police stopped a male riding his bicycle in an out of traffic in the 300 block of 10th street at approximately 9:00 pm.  Police learned that the 35-year-old male was to abide by several conditions of which he was in breach.  Following his arrest, police found he was in possession of metal throwing cards with sharpened edges with the appearance of imitation playing cards.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Undertaking X3, and Possess Weapon.

 

Break and Enter Residential Shed

On April 12, 2022, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residential shed in the 700 block of 22nd street.  Suspects forced open the door overnight and stole two Del Rio cruiser style bicycles.  One bright pink and the other black.  Anyone with information regarding this B&E and Theft is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service at 204-729-2345 or https://www.brandon.ca/police-contact/police-contact.

 

Break and Enter to Business

On April 12, 2022, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a business in the 100 block of Richmond Ave E.  Suspects forced their way onto a storage trailer overnight using a pickaxe, which was located nearby. Stolen were a variety of power tools including a Milwaukee ½ impact drill, a 3/8 impact drill, a 3/8 socket set and a number of 4-6 amp batteries and battery chargers.  Anyone with information regarding this B&E and Theft is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service at 204-729-2345 or https://www.brandon.ca/police-contact/police-contact.

 

Break and Enter to RV

On April 12, 2022, police responded to a report of a break and enter to an RV, which was stored in a compound in the 400 block of College Ave.  Suspects forced their way in between April 9th and April 12th by breaking a window.  Stolen was a TV, DVD player and a TV/DVD combo along with several DVD’s. Arrest Warrant

On April 12, 2022, police located and arrested a 27-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court, Fail to Attend Ident, and Fail to Comply with Probation.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

On April 13, 2022, police located and arrested a 37-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of a Breach of Conditional Sentence Order.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

On April 12, 2022, police located and arrested a 28-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court.  She was later released and will appear in court on June 20, 2022.
