On Friday morning, a resident in the south end of Brandon reported his garage entered sometime overnight. Stolen was a bike and an older lever action style BB gun. The caller later recovered the bike in the area.

Possess Stolen Property

On Friday evening, a 59-year-old male from Winnipeg was arrested for being in possession of a key from a previous hotel stay, which he had paid for. The suspect returned to the business and reentered the room with the key he had kept, with the intention of staying there without having to pay. The key was seized, and the suspect held in custody overnight. He was released in the morning and will appear in Brandon Provincial Court in August, and faces a single charge of possession of property obtained by crime.

Other Arrests

  • On Friday afternoon, a female reported her 38-year-old ex-boyfriend from Brandon had been repeatedly contacting her. The suspect had been released from police custody earlier this week on conditions not to have any contact or communication with her, due to prior assaults he had committed against her. The accused will appear before a Justice of the Peace this morning, and faces three charges of failing to comply with a release order.
  • On Friday evening at 11:05 P.M., police attended to a residence in the 1000 block of 12th Street for a disturbance. A 28-year-old female from Brandon was causing a disturbance there. She was lodged in cells overnight without charge and will be released in the morning when sober.
  • A 20-year-old male from Brandon was arrested for an incident, which took place on June 10, following an investigation. The suspect attended to an apartment in the south end of Brandon and kicked in the apartment door during an argument with the occupant. He then assaulted a neighbor who intervened by punching them in the face. The suspect was charged with mischief to property and assault, and will make a court appearance in July.
