Theft Under $5000

On January 10, 2022, police responded to a report of theft of merchandise from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave at approximately 5:30 pm.  The suspect left the business, but employees knew his identity as he had been barred from the business on a previous occasion.

On January 11, 2022, police located and arrested the 29-year-old male when he returned to the business while wearing the merchandise he stole the day before.  He was later released and will appear in court on March 14, 2022 on a charge of Theft under $5000.

 

Possession of a Weapon

On January 11, 2022, shortly before midnight, police located an individual who was failing to abide by a curfew and arrested him.  Upon his arrest, he was also found to be in possession of bear mace.  The 26-year-old male was later released and will appear in court on February 24, 2022 on charges of Fail to comply with Undertaking X2 and Possession of a Weapon.

 

Assault by Choking

On January 12, 2022 at 1:00 am, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence.  Investigation revealed that an occupant had had assaulted a victim by choking them during a dispute.  The 23-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service.  He will be released once sober to appear in court on February 10, 2022 on charges of Assault by Choking and Assault.

 

IPDA

On January 12, 2022 at approximately 5:00 am, police responded to a report of damage to a window on a residence in the 500 block of 13 street.  Police searched the area and located a 29-year-old intoxicated male who was in no condition to care for himself.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.  It is unknown who caused damage to the residential window at this time.

 

Arrest Warrant

On January 11, 2022, police located and arrested a 34-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend.  He was later released and will appear in court on February 10, 2022.

On January 11, 2022, police located and arrested a 34-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Theft Under $5000.  He was later released to appear in court on March 14, 2022.

On January 11, 2022, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence at 9:00 pm.  One of the occupants who was responsible for the disturbance was found to be wanted on outstanding charges of Assault.  The 32-year-old female was lodged at Brandon Police Service due to being under the influence of illicit drugs and alcohol.  She will be released once sober to appear in court on a later date.
