Residential Search Warrant – Possession of Controlled Substances

At approx. 9:30 Friday, officers were advised that a bullet and bullet hole were located in a vacant apartment in the 200 block of 11th St.  Further investigation revealed the bullet had passed through the floor of the apartment above, through the ceiling and was located on the floor of the vacant apartment.  A search warrant was obtained for the apartment above, which at the time of its execution was empty.  During the search, officers located a quantity of meth, fentanyl, and purple heroin.  A 20-year-old Brandon female has been charged with 3 counts of possession of a controlled substance, and will appear in court on November 18.  No firearm was located in the residence.  At this point, it is unknown when the incident of the firearm being discharged occurred.  The matter is under further investigation.

 

Domestic Assault  

At approx. 8:40 PM Friday, officers were called to the 800 block of 14th St for a disturbance.  Officers located a male and female who were engaged in a dispute.  The investigation revealed the 23-year-old female had assaulted the 44-year-old male.  The female was arrested for assault and held until sober.  She will be released with a court date of October 4. The male was also arrested as he is bound by an order not to communicate with the female.  He was released with a court date of November 1 charged with failing to comply with the conditions of his undertaking.

 

Missing Youth located

During the evening hours Friday police received a report of a missing 12 year old male.  He had been reported missing after not returning home from school.  A special media release was put out last evening to request anyone with information to call police to assist in locating the boy. At 11:45 PM the boy was found safe and has been reunited with his family.
