Stolen Vehicle Recovered

At 10:20 AM Saturday, officers located a 2008 Ram 3500 pickup parked behind a business at 18th St N and Hwy #1.  The vehicle was previously reported stolen in Winnipeg. It was towed to the Brandon Police Service for forensic processing and the owner was advised of its recovery.  The matter is still under investigation.

Impaired Driving / Drive Over .08

At 12:20 AM today, police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle leaving a parking lot in the 1500 block of 18th St.  The driver displayed signs of impairment and was arrested. The driver, a 29-year-old Brandon male, provided two samples of his breath, which resulted in readings well over the legal limit.  He was released with a court date of April 15, charged with impaired driving and drive over .08.  

Break and Enter

At approx. 2:40 AM today, police attended to Rideau Park Personal Care home for an intoxicated male that had walked in.  Officers located the 33 year old male and recognized him from a video of a break and enter to an office at the North Hill Campus of Assiniboine Community College.  The male was arrested for the previously reported break and enter, and will appear in court later today.

Other Arrests

  • 2 individuals were arrested and held at the Brandon Police Service under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.
  • 3 individuals were arrested for breach of the peace.  In each case, they were held until sober and released without charge.
