Residential Search Warrant – Seizure of Fentanyl, Marihuana, Weapons

In May 2021, members of the Operational Support and Crime Suppression Unit began an investigation into drug trafficking in the City Of Brandon. On September 8, 2021, a Search Warrant was executed at a residence on Centennial BLVD, which resulted in the seizure of approximately 2 ounces of Fentanyl, 23 ounces of Marihuana, $6000 cash, two canisters of bear mace, a 12 gauge double-barreled shotgun, replica handgun and other drug trafficking related paraphernalia. The street value of seized drugs is approximately $9000.00.

Four individuals have been arrested following this investigation.

On September 8, 2021, a 23-year-old female was arrested and lodged.  She appeared in court on September 9, 2021 on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl, Conspiracy to Traffic Fentanyl, Conspiracy to Traffic cocaine, Possession of Proceeds of Crime and Obstruction of Justice. 

On September 8, 2021, a 25-year-old male was arrested and lodged. He appeared in court on September 9, 2021 on charges of Possession of a Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a firearm contrary to a Prohibition Order, Possession of Ammunition Contrary to a Prohibition Order, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Possession for the Purpose of Distributing Cannabis, and Possession of Proceeds of Crime.

On September 8, 2021, a 23-year-old male was arrested and lodged.  He appeared in court on September 9, 2021 on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl and Fail to comply with Release Order.

On September 9, 2021, a 49-year-old male was arrested and remains in Brandon Correctional Centre.  He will appear in court today on charges of Conspiracy to Traffic Fentanyl, conspiracy to Traffic Methamphetamine, Conspiracy to Traffic Cocaine, and Obstruction of Justice.

Criminal Harassment

On August 23, 2021, police responded to a report of a 56-year-old male who was criminally harassing a victim by repeatedly driving and walking past the victim’s home.  Investigation into the reports led police to arrest the suspect on September 9, 2021.  He was later released and will appear in court on November 18, 2021.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On September 9, 2021 at 10:30 pm, police located a 16-year-old male pedestrian who was to comply with a curfew.  He was arrested for the breach and later released to appear in court on November 23, 2021.

 

IPDA

On September 9, 2021 shortly before 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of a male walking down the centre of the road in traffic in the 300 block of Frederick St.  The 59-year-old male was found to be in no condition to care for himself.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On September 10, 2021 shortly after 3:00 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female in the 700 block of 10th street.  Police located the 30-year-old female who was in no condition to care for herself.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On September 10, 2021 shortly after 2:00 am, police located a 41-year-old male who was to comply with a abstain conditions.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today on a charge of Fail to comply with Release Order.

 

Arrest Warrant 

On September 9, 2021, police located and arrested a 22-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.  He was later released and will appear in court on November 29, 2021.
