Domestic Assault

A 26 year old male from Brandon had assaulted his girlfriend on April 4, causing injuries to her face. Police had been searching for the male since that time, and yesterday afternoon he turned himself in at the BPS office. After processing he was released to appear in court in June. He faces charges of assault causing bodily harm and mischief to property for damaging the victim’s phone during the assault.

Other Arrests

  • A 20 year old male from Brandon turned himself in yesterday at BPS on an outstanding warrant for assault and several charges of failure to comply with release orders. He was released on an appearance notice to appear in court in June to answer to those charges.  
  • At 9:15 p.m. Saturday, a disturbance was reported in the 800 block of Rosser Avenue. Police attended that area and arrested a 29 year old male from Brandon who was intoxicated. Police lodged the male in BPS cells overnight without charge, for release later today once sober.
  • At 1:20 a.m. today, a male was arrested in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue on an outstanding BPS warrant for assault and mischief to property. He was released on scene to appear in court in May to answer to these charges.
  • At 3:35 a.m. today, officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Alaska Bay. A 22 year old male from Brandon operating the vehicle was in breach of a court imposed curfew. He was released on scene to appear in court in June, charged with one count of failure to comply with an undertaking. A 20 year old female in the vehicle was detained in custody, as she is currently on release conditions on nine outstanding charges before the court, including a court imposed curfew. She will appear before a Justice today, charged with failure to comply with a release order.
