Refuse Breath Demand

On September 8, 2021, police responded to a motor vehicle collision on E Fotheringham Drive shortly after 5:00 pm.  Witnesses report seeing alcohol containers in one of the vehicles involved.  Following an investigation, police read the driver of that vehicle the breath demand, however, the 20-year-old female refused.  She was then arrested for Refuse Breath Demand.  She was later released and will appear in court on September 13, 2021.

The punishment for Refuse Breath Demand is the same punishment as Operation While Impaired.

 

Theft Under $5000

On June 18, 2021, police responded to a report of the theft of merchandise from a business in the 800 block of 18th street N.

On September 4, 2021, police responded to a second report of theft from the same business.

Investigation into the two thefts lead police to learn the identity of the 25-year-old suspect, who was responsible for both.

On September 8, 2021, police located and arrested the suspect.  He was later released and will appear in court on September 29, 2021 on charges of Theft Under $5000 X2.

 

Robbery with Violence

On September 8, 2021, police responded to a complaint of the theft of a cell phone.  The victim was threatened with bear mace and violence during the altercation, which took place in the area of the 700 block of Rosser Ave E shortly after 6:00 am.  The victim was not injured.

On September 8, 2021, police responded to another complaint of a disturbance in the 900 block of Rosser Ave shortly after 7:00 pm.  One of the individuals involved was found to be the same suspect from the robbery investigation.  The 20-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

 

IPDA

On September 8, 2021, at 10:00 pm, police responded to a disturbance in the area of the 200 block of 5th street.  A male was banging on a number of doors in the neighbourhood.  Police located the 38-year-old male who was too intoxicated to care for himself.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On September 9, 2021 shortly after 2:00 am, police observed a 48-year-old male pedestrian who was not in compliance with his release conditions.  Upon his arrest, police located a small amount of meth in his possession.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Fail to comply with Release Order X3 and Possess Meth.

 

Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Weapon

On September 9, 2021, shortly after 1:00 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 000 block of Whillier Drive.  The 33-year-old suspended female driver was found to have open liquor inside the vehicle, which led police to discover a can of bear mace.  Both the driver and her 37-year-old female passenger were arrested for Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Weapon, and later released to appear in court on November 22, 2021.

 

Arrest Warrant

On September 8, 2021, police located and arrested a 39-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fraud Use Credit Card.  He was later released and will appear in court on November 29, 2021.

On September 8, 2021 shortly after 12:00 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence.  One of the individuals involved was found to be wanted on outstanding charges of Break and Enter and Commit and Mischief Under.  He was arrested and later released to appear in court on November 1, 2021.
