Resist Arrest

On June 8, 2021 at 11:00 am, police observed a male in the 400 block of 2nd street who was known to be the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant.  As police were attempting to arrest the male, he fled on foot. The male was apprehended a short distance away.  In his possession was a can of bear mace and several knives, contrary to his undertaking conditions not to possess any weapons.  The 27-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today on charges of Possession of a Weapon X2, Fail to comply with Undertaking X2, Uttering Threats, and Resist Arrest. 

During the attempted arrest and foot-pursuit of the male, police dropped a cell phone.  An individual known to police took advantage of the situation and stole the phone before leaving the area in a cab.  Police were quickly able to locate the cab, and recover the stolen cell phone.  The 24-year-old female suspect was arrested and later released to appear in court on August 16, 2021 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

Mischief to Property

On June 7, 2021, police responded to separate reports of tires having been slashed on three vehicles in the downtown area during the afternoon.  Security footage allowed police to identify two female suspects.

On June 8, 2021, both females were located and arrested.  The 35-year-old female and the 42-year-old female were later released to appear in court on September 9, 2021 on charges of Mischief to Property X3.

 

Possess Property Obtained by Crime

On June 8, 2021, shortly after 10:00 am police located and arrested a 37-year-old male on an outstanding arrest warrant for assault.  In his possession at the time of his arrest was a stolen bicycle.  The male was also to abide by a condition not to be in possession of a bicycle without a purchase receipt.

The male was lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court later in the day on charges of Assault, Possess Property Obtained by Crime and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

Breach of Peace

On June 8, 2021, police observed a male behind Brandon Police Station throwing rocks at 8:30 am.  The 41-year-old male was intoxicated.  To prevent his behavior from escalating further and causing any damage, he was arrested and lodged until sober. 

 

Break and Enter to Garage

On June 8, 2021, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residential garage in the 200 block of 16th street.  Suspects entered the garage overnight through a partially open overhead door.  Stolen was a blue Norco Pinnacle adult mountain bike, an orange Cannondale Quick CX3 bike, and a black older model Kona bike.

IPDA

On June 8, 2021, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female passed out in the 000 block of 8th street.  The 24-year old female was in no condition to care for herself, and she had nowhere to go.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrants

On June 8, 2021, police located a 49-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges.  The male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Uttering Threats X4, Assault with a Weapon X2, and Dangerous Driving.

On June 9, 2021 shortly after 5:00 am, police located a 41-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges.  He was arrested and later released to appear in court on September 14, 2021 on a charge of Fail to Comply with Probation.
