Impaired Driving

On August 8, 2022, police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision near the 1000 block of Middleton Ave at approximately 8:00 am.  Investigation revealed that the two drivers were formerly involved in a relationship and were involved in a dispute.  One of the two was chasing the other while driving their vehicles in the area.  Both drivers had been drinking.  Neither were injured in the collision.

The 36-year-old female was arrested and provided samples of her breath, which were over the legal limit.  She was released to a sober relative and will appear in court on August 15, 2022 on a charge of Driving while Ability Impaired.

The 39-year-old male driver blew a warn on the ASD and received a seven day driving suspension.

 

Theft Under $5000/ Possession of a Weapon

On August 8, 2022, police responded to a report of a male who stole merchandise from a business in the 000 block of Willowdale Cres shortly after 12:00 pm.  Before the male left, he proceeded to throw rocks at the windows but did not cause any damage.  Police were able to identify the male from security footage.

Police located the male yelling and screaming while swinging a hammer a short distance away.  When police attempted to arrest the male, he initially resisted before he was taken into custody.

The 29-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Police Service.  He will appear in court today on charges of Theft Under $5000, Fail to Comply with Probation, Fail to Comply with Release Order, and Possession of a Weapon.

 

Consume Liquor by a Minor

On August 8, 2022 shortly before 3:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated youth in the 200 block of 12 street.  The youth’s caregiver was attempting to convince the 16-year-old female to come home, but was unsuccessful and the youth fled.  Police arrested the youth and lodged her at Brandon Police Service, as her caregivers were unable to keep her safe.  She will be released to them once sober and will receive fines for consuming underage.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On August 8, 2022, police responded to a report of a 28-year-old male who was causing problems at a business in the 1900 block of Richmond Ave at approximately 6:00 pm.  The male was found to be on a court condition not to attend the business.  He was arrested and later released to appear in court on October 3, 2022 on a charge of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

Refuse ASD

On August 8, 2022 shortly before 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of a vehicle striking a parked car in the 200 block of Brandon Ave.  The 56-year-old female driver displayed signs of impairment but she refused to provide a breath sample on the ASD.  She was arrested and will appear in court on September 6, 2022 on a charge of Refuse ASD.

 

IPDA

On August 8, 2022 shortly before 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female near the 800 block of Pacific Ave.  The 22-year-old had nowhere to stay and she was in no condition to care for herself, so she was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrant

On August 8, 2022, police located and arrested a 42-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Possession of a Weapon, Fai to Appear, Fail to Comply with Release Order.  Upon his arrest, he was found to be in possession of stolen property.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.
