Break and Enter with Intent

On August 8, 2021, at 12:40 pm, police responded to a break and enter in progress in the 100 block of 2nd street.  The two suspects were scared off by neighbours and fled. 

Police located and arrested the 17-year-old male suspect, and the 29-year-old suspect in the area.  The 17-year-old suspect was in possession of a slim jim tool at the time of his arrest.  He was later released to appear in court on October 5, 2021 on charges of Break and Enter with Intent and Possess Break in Instruments. 

The 29-year-old suspect was in possession of a pry bar at the time of his arrest.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on the same charges.

 

Attempt Break and Enter

On August 8, 2021, police responded to a report of an attempted break and enter to a residence in the 3500 block of Willowdale Cres.  The homeowner reported that during the previous evening, the suspect attempted to gain entry to the residence by damaging the screen in the door then opening it.  The suspect attempted to gain access to the residence through the second door, but was unable to.  The attempt was captured on video.

Police located and arrested the 21-year-old female suspect on August 8, 2021.  She was later released and will appear in court on November 1, 2021 on a charge of Attempt Break and Enter with Intent.

 

Structure Fire

On August 8, 2021, police assisted BFES in responding to a structure fire in the 100 block of 14th street at 6:49 pm.  The structure was a detached residential garage.  The homeowners and nearby neighbors were evacuated.  There were no injuries.  The structure is a total loss, and the cause has yet to be determined.

 

Mischief to Property

On July 31, 2021, police responded to a report of vandalism to a vending machine in the 800 block of Victoria Ave.  Nearby security footage assisted police in identifying the suspect.  On August 8, 2021, the 28-year-old male was located and arrested.  He was later released to appear in court on November 1, 2021 on a charge of Mischief to Property.

 

Breach of Peace

On August 8, 2021, at approximately 8:30 am, police responded to a report of a male who entered the employee area of a business in the 100 block of 18th street.  The male proceeded to make himself a meal before his was discovered by employees.  Police arrested and lodged the 28-year-old male at Brandon Police Service due to his intoxication level.  He will be released once sober.

 

Assault

On August 8, 2021, shortly after 4:00 pm, police responded to a report of an assault in the 100 block of 4th street.  The 20-year-old male suspect was located nearby and arrested.  He will appear in court today on charges of assault.  The victim received minor injuries, but did not require medical attention.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On August 9, 2021, police responded to a report of a disturbance shortly before 1:00 am.  Two youth, a 16-year-old female, and a 15-year-old male, who were each on conditions not to have contact with one another and to abide by a curfew, were located at a business in the 200 block of 18th street N.  They were both arrested and later turned over to adult caregivers.  They will appear in court on November 2, 2021 on charges of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

Arrest Warrants

On August 8, 2021, police located and arrested two males at a residence who were wanted on outstanding charges.  A 46-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Fail to comply with Release Order.  A 40-year-old male was later released and will appear in court on September 21, 2021 on a charge of Sexual Assault.
