Break and Enter suspect arrested

On September 7, 2021, police responded to two separate reports of break-ins.  One to a business shed in the 200 block of College Ave, and the second to a business office in the 1000 block of 6th street in which the suspect caused considerable damage during the attempt. 

Security footage from both locations assisted police in identifying the suspect, who was later located and arrested. 

The 51-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Attempt Break and Enter, Break and Enter, Theft under, Mischief to Property Over $5000 and Fail to Comply with Release Order.

Motor vehicle collision with pedestrian injury

On September 7, 2021, police and members of BFES responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 9th St. and Richmond Ave.  Following the collision of the two vehicles, they struck a 53-year-old male pedestrian at the intersection who suffered serious injuries and was transported to BRHC.  One driver, a 19-year-old male, was issued a fine for Fail to Yield Right of Way.

 

Possess Property Obtained by Crime

On September 7, 2021, police responded to a report of a male who was in possession of a set of speakers that were stolen in August.  The 22-year-old male was located and arrested.  Not only did he have the speakers in his possession, but he had an airsoft pistol as well.  He was later released to appear in court on November 29, 2021 on charges of Possess Property Obtained by Crime, and Possess Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order.

 

Break and Enter to Business

On September 7, 2021, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a construction site in the 100 block of 26th street N.  Suspects forced their way into several trailers overnight and stole a variety of tools as well as a Dell laptop. Stolen Vehicle Recovered

On September 7, 2021, police located a stolen Chevolet Uplander in the 700 block of Rosser Ave.  The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Waywayseecappo.  Anyone with information regarding this vehicle theft is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service at 204-729-2345 or https://www.brandon.ca/police-contact/police-contact.

 

Possess Weapon Dangerous

On September 7, 2021, at 5:30 pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Pacific Ave.  The 29-year-old male driver was found to be unlicensed.  Further investigation revealed that he was in possession of a pellet gun – a Gig Sauer replica handgun, two butterfly knives and meth.  Following his arrest, he was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Possess Weapon Dangerous, Possession of Meth, and Fail to Comply with Weapon Prohibition.

 

Stolen Vehicles

On September 7, 2021, police responded to two separate reports of stolen vehicles.

A black 2010 ford Fusion was taken from the 800 block of 1st street.   Credit cards from a wallet inside the vehicle were also stolen and used.  The vehicle licence plate is Manitoba KSR156.  The keys were in the vehicle at the time.

A grey 2008 Chevrolet Colorado with Manitoba licence HPL964 was stolen from the 700 block of 1st street between 4:30 pm and 8:00 pm.  The owner describes the windshield as being noticeably damaged with cracks, and the rear drivers side hubcap is missing.  It is believed a set of keys were left inside the vehicle.

 

IPDA

On September 7, 2021, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female sitting in the driveway of a business in the 800 block of 18th street shortly after 8:00 am.  The 22-year-old female was in no condition to care for herself and was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On September 7, 2021 at 10:30 pm, police came across a highly intoxicated 18-year-old male and his friends in the 900 block of Lorne Ave.  His friends were unable to care for him, and he was in no condition to care for himself.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
