Break and Enter to Garage

On April 8, 2021 at 4:51 am, police received a report of a break and enter to a residential garage on Clement Drive.  The homeowner noticed the garage light was on and the overhead door was open.  Suspects are believed to have entered the garage by forcing a door between 10:30 pm on April 7, and 4:45am on April 8. 

Stolen were two firearms, taken from a locked gun case, which was pried open.  They are described as a vintage 12 gage Cooey single shot, shotgun with a brown wood stock.  The other is a black Mossberg patriot 270 caliber rifle with a vortex scope.  Also stolen was a hunting knife with a brown multi-color handle and a brown leather sheath and a Dewalt 18 volt cordless impact drill set.

Update – Arrest made - Break and Enter to Residence

Security footage from the residence in the 300 block of 12th street assisted police in identifying the suspect to a break and enter occurring in the evening of March 29, 2021.

On April 7, 2021, the 47-year-old male was located and arrested.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court this morning on a charge of Break and Enter with Intent.

On March 29, 2021, at 10:17 pm, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residence in the 300 block of 12th street.  The homeowner was home at the time and the alarm was triggered causing the suspect to flee. 

The suspect is described as a male, wearing a grey hoodie, which was up at the time.  He was also wearing dark coloured pants worn low.  The suspect was last seen running south from the residence.  Anyone with information regarding this B & E is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service at 204-729-2345 or https://www.brandon.ca/police-contact/police-contact.

 

Impaired Driving

On April 7, 2021 at 4:00 pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of 6th street, as the vehicle licence plate was inactive.  A 42-year-old male passenger was found to be ordered into a 24-hour curfew and was therefore arrested.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Fail to Comply with Release order.

The 62-year-old female driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested.  She provided samples of her breath more than twice the legal limit.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released when sober to appear in court on charges of Driving While Ability Impaired and Driving with More Than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On April 8, 2021 at approximately 4:00 am, police observed a 26-year-old male at a business in the 700 block of 10th street.  The male was known to be on conditions not to attend the business.  He was also under the influence of illicit drugs contrary to court a court order.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order X2.

 

Arrest Warrant

On April 7, 2021, police located a 19-year-old male who was wanted on an outstanding charge of Fail to Attend.  He was released to appear in court on July 5, 2021.

 

Break and Enter to Business

On April 7, 2021, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a business in the 1000 block of 1st street N.  Video surveillance of the incident revealed a male entered the building through an unlocked door shortly after midnight on April 2, 2021.  The male then stole a cash box from an office area.  There was believed to be less than $100 in the cash box.  Police continue to investigate.

On April 7, 2021 shortly before 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male in a business in the 200 block of 18th street N.  The 44-year-old male had nowhere to go, and he was in no condition to care for himself.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On April 8, 2021, police responded to a report of several unwanted guests outside at a residential property at approximately 5:30.  Most of the individuals had somewhere to go, except a 17-year-old male who was too intoxicated to care for himself.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
