Break and Enter

On June 6, 2021, police responded to a report of a Break and Enter to a residence in the 100 block of Victoria Ave at approximately 8:00 am.  The homeowner found an individual sleeping in the basement.  Police arrested the 39-year-old male suspect, who had cut the screen door to gain entry.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober and later released to appear in court on August 30, 2021 on a charge of Break and Enter with Intent.

 

Theft Under $5000

On June 6, 2021, police responded to a report of the theft of merchandise from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave at approximately 9:00 am.  The 38-year-old male was located several blocks away and arrested.  The stolen merchandise was recovered.  He was later released to appear in court on July 19, 2021 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

Sexual Assault

On June 6, 2021, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence shortly before 8:00 pm.  Investigation revealed the suspect assaulted the victim following a jealous outburst.  The 34-year-old male suspect threatened the victim with a knife, choked her and sexually assaulted her by touching.  She escaped him and locked herself in a room before calling police. 

The suspect was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service overnight.  He will appear in court today on charges of Assault with a Weapon, Sexual Assault and Assault by choking.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On June 6, 2021, shortly after 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female who was punching vehicles in the area of 10th street and Rosser Ave.  Police located an intoxicated 27-year-old female who matched the description in the area.  She was to abide by conditions not to consume alcohol.  She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until Sober.  She will be released when sober to appear in court on August 23, 2023 on a charge of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.
