Business Break and Enter

On Friday morning, a break and enter was reported to a business in the 600 block of 10th Street. An unknown suspect(s) broke a window at the rear of the business sometime overnight and after entering stole a laptop.

Garage Break and Enter

On Friday afternoon a resident in the 300 block of 8th Street reported their garage had been broken into overnight Thursday. A TV and various tools were taken.

Apartment Break and Enters

On Friday afternoon it was reported that an unknown suspect forced entry to two separate apartment buildings in the downtown area, in the 100 block of 14th Street and the zero hundred block of 16th Street. Nothing was reported stolen. In both instances the doors of the buildings were pried open.

Domestic Assault

At 11:00 p.m. Friday, a 25 year old Brandon female was arrested for assaulting her child’s father. The male had attended to the suspect’s residence to drop off items for their infant child. An argument followed during which time the female is alleged to have assaulted the complainant. He attended to BPS to file a domestic assault complaint and displayed physical injuries to his face consistent with having been assaulted. The suspect was processed and released to appear in court in April, charged with assault.

Other Arrests

  • At 7:20 p.m. Friday, a 37 year old male from Brandon was taken into custody in the 400 block of 9th Street. He was intoxicated and swearing at passersby in the area. He was detained in BPS cells overnight and will be released from custody later today once sober.
  • At 7:25 p.m. Friday officers attended to a reported fight in the 1600 block of Stickney Avenue. A 16 year old youth from outside of Brandon was taken into custody and lodged in cells for release later today to an adult once sober.
