Theft Of Vehicle – Suspect arrested – Impaired Driving

On March 3, 2022, police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision at approximately 1:24 pm in the 500 block of 15th street.  Investigation revealed that an SUV struck a parked vehicle and the suspect driver left on foot.  Police located him a short distance away. 

The 31-year-old male was impaired and arrested for Impaired Driving.  He sustained minor injuries due to the collision, and was treated at the hospital.

A short time after police attended to the collision, investigators learned that the vehicle the suspect was driving had just been stolen from the 100 block of Lorne Ave.

The suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober to appear in court on a later date on a charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Driving While Ability Impaired – Blood Drug Combination.

Both vehicles involved in the collision were required to be towed.

 

Assault

On March 3, 2022, shortly before 10:00 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence as witnesses could hear loud noises and partying.  Investigation revealed that an assault took place during the disturbance as a 35-year-old male assaulted and caused minor injuries on a victim.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service.  He will be released once to appear in court on May 9, 2022 on a charge of Assault.

 

Unlawfully in a Dwelling House

On March 3, 2022 shortly before 8:00 am, police responded to a report of an unknown female who had just entered a residence in the 1300 block of 9th street.  The female left the area, but was located by police and arrested.  The 20-year-old was intoxicated and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.  She will appear in court on May 26, 2022 on a charge of Unlawfully in a Dwelling.

 

Assault with a Weapon

On March 2, 2022, police responded to a report of an assault in which a 16-year-old male assaulted his 17-year-old brother with a baton while they were at school.  The suspect fled the school, and was arrested the following day.  He was later released and will appear in court on April 26, 2022 on charges of Assault with a Weapon and Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.

 

Theft Under $5000

On March 1, 2022, police responded to a report of the theft of merchandise from a business in the 600 block of 18th street.  The suspect fled the business, but police were able to identify him from security footage at the business.

On March 3, 2022, police located and arrested the 28-year-old male suspect.  He was also wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Probation.  He was later released and will appear in court on April 28, 2022.

 

Breach of Peace

On March 3, 2022 shortly after 5:00 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence as a neighbor could hear yelling and screaming.  An intoxicated 58-year-old female was found to be the cause of the problems.  She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Breach of Peace

On March 3, 2022, shortly before 7:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male consuming alcohol inside an unlicensed business in the 700 block of Victoria Ave.  The male was not cooperating with the employees request to leave.  Police arrested the 44-year-old male and lodged him at Brandon Police Service until sober.  He will be released and receive a fine under the LGCCA when sober.
