Resist Arrest

On August 3, 2021 shortly after 12:00 pm, police attempted to arrest a 35-year-old male on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order X 4. 

The male was in a residence at the time and attempted to evade arrest by climbing into an attic.  The ceiling didn’t hold is weight and he fell through, giving him an opportunity to run out of the residence and onto a second story balcony where he jumped to the ground.  He then ran down the street, and jumped a chain link fence as he was fleeing, but he was apprehended shortly thereafter. 

He was treated at the hospital for minor injuries he acquired in his attempt to evade arrest.  He was later lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today with an additional charge of Resist Arrest.

 

Sexual Assault Cause Bodily Harm

On August 1, 2021 at approximately 8:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female in distress.  Witnesses assisted the female in getting away from a male suspect who was attempting to pull her to a residence.  The suspect then fled.

Investigation revealed that the 40-year-old male suspect had sexually assaulted the victim at a residence and would not allow her to leave.  She was treated for injuries at the hospital.

The male was not located until August 3, 2021, when he turned himself into police, as he was aware of the impending charges.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Sexual Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Assault with a Weapon, and Forcible Confinement.

 

Possess Prohibited Weapon

On August 3, 2021 shortly after 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of an assault at a residence.  The victim reports being assaulted following an argument with the 30-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was kicked out, but was waiting for the victim outside the residence with a can of bear mace when police arrived. 

The suspect dropped the mace when he spotted police and was arrested without incident.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Assault, Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Possess Prohibited Weapon, and Fail to Comply with Release Order.  The victim did not require medical attention.

 

Breach of Peace

On August 3, 2021, police responded to a report of a disturbance in a business in the 3100 block of Victoria Ave shortly before 4:00 pm.  A 31-year-old intoxicated female was found to be the cause of the issues as individuals around her were unable to prevent her behavior from escalating.  She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On August 3, 2021, police responded to a report of an intoxicated 14-year-old female in a residence.  Individuals around her were unable to prevent her behavior from escalating as she was becoming combative.  She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Disobey Court Order

On August 4, 2021 shortly after 5:00 am, police responded to a report of an unwanted male at a residence.  He was there contrary to a court order.  The 26-year-old male was found hiding in a closet.  He was arrested and later released to appear in court on October 28, 2021.

 

Arrest Warrants

On August 3, 2021, police located and arrested a 35-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fai to Attend Court.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and appeared in court later in the day.

On August 3, 2021, police located and arrested a 38-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today
