Southwest Brandon Secondary Plan - Infrastructure Amendments

The City of Brandon is updating the Southwest Brandon Secondary Plan to facilitate the long term planning of infrastructure in southwest Brandon. The proposed changes provide clarity regarding:

• phasing of development
• funding of off-site infrastructure
• infrastructure oversizing
• infrastructure standards

Oversized Services Policy

A major part of development can include the necessity to oversize infrastructure to benefit future developing lands. As a relevant section of the upcoming Development Agreement Paraters document; the Engineering Department has been preparing a draft policy regardin the oversizing of infrastructure and the recovery of costs of third party benefit. Below is the first draft of the policy to date. Development Services is currently working to improve this policy and updates will be provided in the near future.
