Updates

June 29, 2022Daly_Overpass_Map_Update.jpg

To accommodate the construction of the new Daly Overpass changes are required to traffic flow on 18th Street.

  • Effective July 4th through approximately July 18, 2022, traffic flow on 18th Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Princess Avenue to Parker Boulevard.
  • Vehicles southbound on 18th Street will not be allowed to turn left (east) on Rosser Avenue, rather they will be required to follow a detour route as shown on this drawing.
  • Pacific Avenue will remain closed until approximately December 2022.

We appreciate your ongoing patience during this period.

Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure advises the Pacific Avenue loop under Provincial Trunk Highway (PTH) 10 (18th Street) and Pacific Avenue west of 15th Street to 18th Street will be closed to all traffic starting at 6 a.m. on Monday, April 4 due to ongoing construction.DalyOverpass April2022

A signed detour is in place and motorists are advised to use Rosser and Princess avenues as alternate connections to and from 18th Street.

This will be a long-term closure until approximately December 2022.

The project involves the construction of a new four-lane bridge with a separate pedestrian and active transportation bridge. The design will also include new on and off ramps to connect 18th Street with Pacific Avenue, new pathways, sidewalk and pavement upgrades.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and patience during construction.

More information about the new Daly Overpass on PTH 10 in Brandon can be found at www.gov.mb.ca/mit/wms/structures/daly_overpass/index.html.

Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure will update impacts to traffic through the Manitoba 511 information system at www.manitoba511.ca/en/index.html.

February 18, 2022

Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure (MTI) has initiated construction work for the Daly Overpass Project.

Construction is now beginning and will last until Summer 2024. Two lanes of traffic over the Daly Overpass (one in each direction) will be maintained throughout the project period, with a few minor exceptions for brief periods.

Please note the following as it relates to construction activities on McDonald Avenue and SticDalyOverpassUpdate_February18_2022.jpgkney Avenue between 17th St N and 19th St N (see map):

  • From February 22, 2022 – July 1, 2022, McDonald Avenue and Stickney Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic between 17th St N and 19th St N.
  • Construction, including piling activity, in this area is expected to begin in March 2022 and will last for up to a month; noise and vibration can be expected generally between 7 AM and 7 PM daily.
  • Sewer work will take place during the same period. While sewer and water service will continue uninterrupted, residents and business owners may occasionally experience discoloured water. Discolouration of water occurs due to changes in flow, but does not impact safety or potability of the water.
  • Detours will be in place as illustrated on the map; local access will be provided at all times.
  • The vacant land immediately west of Livingstone Landscaping will serve as a construction staging area for the duration of the construction project; a second staging area is located south of the CP rail line on the site of the former Kullberg’s warehouse building.

Construction is set to begin with equipment mobilizing to the site and construction detours being established in the next few weeks. Two lanes of traffic (one in each direction) will be maintained throughout the project period, with a few minor exceptions for brief periods. Further updates will be provided in advance of changes in traffic accommodation during construction. Project completion is anticipated by the end of Summer 2024.
