Hummingbird Garden
Hummingbird Gardens, the largest garden in Brandon's Community Garden Network is located at 26th St & Maryland Ave.
This garden started with twenty-six gardeners and has expanded to nearly four hundred gardeners, with a waiting list.
The gardeners at Hummingbird are very independent and have a real sense of ownership towards their garden plots.
The main focus of the Hummingbird Gardens initiative is Chronic Disease Prevention Initiative (CDPI). CDPI is designed to help communities address the major risk factors that lead to chronic disease, such as unhealthy eating.
