Musicians for Music in the Parks

The City of Brandon is currently seeking qualified and interested individuals and/or bands to perform at the City of Brandon’s music summer series, Music in the Parks. Opportunities are available from May to September on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at City of Brandon parks that meet the necessary requirements.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform family based and entertainment music to a diverse audience
  • Set up and take down of necessary equipment and instruments

 

Experience and Skills

  • Musical and performing background
  • Planning, organizing and project coordination skills
  • Independent and able to work with limited supervision
  • Able to follow safety precautions when on site
  • Able to follow direction and policies at all times
  • Enthusiastic about performing and making music

 

Volunteer Requirements

  • Must have own method of transportation and musical instruments
  • Submit a sample of their performance, audio or video
  • No unsuitable music or songs
  • Must be social and enjoy outdoor settings/ events
  • Must be able to commit to one event
  • Report to scheduled event in a punctual and professional manner
  • Notify the Coordinator in advance if unable to attend event

 

Supervision

  • All volunteers will be responsible to the City of Brandon Community Services Department
  • Volunteers may be asked to cooperate in an annual review and assessment of the Volunteer Development Program and their overall experience volunteering with the City of Brandon

The City of Brandon will provide all advertising and promotion of the event. A Program Coordinator will be on-site. A PA system and three microphones will be available if required.
