The City of Brandon Streets and Roads Department is continuing its efforts to clear streets of snow build-up this week. Overnight crews continue to pick up snow piles from medians and curbsides. Crews are also rut-cutting streets in problem areas based on public queries, but no widespread residential road clearing is scheduled at this time.

It should be noted that when crews are able to turn their attention to the spring pothole patching process, it will be undertaken with a temporary winter mix, which is not as durable as a permanent patch. Winter mix is used during the regular freeze-thaw cycle that spring brings, until the weather stabilizes enough to allow for a hot asphalt mix to be used.

Residents are encouraged to report problem potholes to the City of Brandon in the following ways:

  • City of Brandon’s 24-hr pothole hotline (204-729-2200); The line is monitored but, due to the volume of calls, calls are NOT returned.
  • Submitting online : http://www.brandon.ca/departments/operations/report-an-issue
